hesitation/miss

i am experiencing a slight miss or hesitation from a 1000 to 2500 rpm's. we noticed the problem after we adjusted timing and changed the spark plugs. we already check the plugs and they are all in there snug. we rechecked the timing and it is at 12 degrees. 12 degrees may sound odd, but the person who owned the car before i did put a mark on 12 degrees and that is where it seems to run good anyways. we are wondering if the hesitation has anything to do with the distributor or msd ignition?

Try the timing a little lower or higher...Is it spark knocking???If not give it some more advance, if it is (and that would be the hesitation) retard it some.

How did you set the timing? Manually (would be the base timing) or via a rom burn?

The "base timing" on mine (88IROC 5.7TPI) is supposed to be set to 6 degrees and the computer will auto-adjust based on RPM.

the advance wire was upluged. the timing was set manually. shane is my friend so i can answer some of your questions for him. i do know something is wrong with his car though because lately his intake has been breathing too much LT1 exhaust.
