Unhappy here we go again...

OK I know you've read numerous posts I've made about problems with my transmission, but it's kinda different now. OK, shift points are still incorrect, and the car is still waaaay too eager to downshift. My transmission finally gave and i had to get another 700r4 put in. That has been done, but shift points are still not correct. Additionally, I've noticed once i've reached cruising speed, the car runs very rough. The RPMS will jump around a little, usually no more than 200 RPMS either way, but it is still running rough nonetheless. Plus, downshifting is becoming even more irrational. I won't give it any more gas, but suddenly it'll downshift. Plus, if I'm on a hill, the car will shift differently. Going uphill, it shifts more normally, going downhill it wants to downshift. AND, sometimes, not all the time, but SOMETIMES the car will shimmy in tandem with the RPMS jumping around. This is WEIRD!!! I'm not really knowledgeable in this field, so I'm unsure what to think: torque converter??? rear end??? What could be causing this problem??? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not big on 700R4's but if you're having the same problems with a second tranny I'd start looking for another problem.

Is the TV cable adjusted properly? Do you use an aftermarket shifter and is it adjusted properly? Is the speedo drive gears correct for the tire size and gear ratio? Maybe the computer thinks your going faster or slower than you really are and is causing problems.

yes, I've tried adjusting the TV cable. It doesn't make a difference. Everything in the transmission is as it was from the factory. There also shouldn't be a problem with the tires: 235/65/15 that's pretty darn close to the factory tires, if not exactly the same size.

Check the trans cooler....if it's partially clogged and the trans isn't gettin enough line pressure that can cause some really goofy problems. Also the lack of heat dissipation may be what fried your first tranny in the end...700-R4's are picky about heat.
