Help Please Tach Bounce Pwr Loss

92 305 TBI AUTO TRANY. HERES THE PROBLEM MY TACH BOUNCES LIKE A FREGGIN BOUNCY BALL IN 500 RPM INCRAMENTS AND THE CAR LOOSES POWER UP HILL. AND IT IS VERY JERKY WHILE ACCELERATING AND CRUISING BUT NOT ALL OF THE TIME I WOULD SAY ABOUT HALF THE TIME NOWSINCE I PUT IN NEW PLUGS, ROTOR, CAP AND COIL SINCE THE TACH GETS ITS SIGNAL FROM THE COIL THE NEW COIL HELPED QUITE A LOT BUT IT STILL DOES IT ABOUT HALF OF THE TIME INSTEAD OF ALL THE TIME. I RUN 93 OCTANE IN THE CAR. AND I HAVE A 160 DEG THERMOSTATE IN THE CAR. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT PLEASE HELP. I JUST BOUGHT A PERFORMANCE CHIP FOR THE CAR I NEED TO PUT IN IS IT A PAIN IN THE BUTT TO REMOVE THE ECU THATS 1 THING I HAVE NEVER DONE TO A CAMARO!

WIRES ARE GOOD OR SO THEY SEEM ABOUT 30 OR 40 K ON THEM BRAND NEW AC DELCO PLUGS, THANKS

How are the wires on the coil? Any loose?

Did both simptoms start at the same time? They may not be related,and do you remember if the problem may have started after the thermostat change ? I see alot of people useing the 160* and haveing problems(yeah 25 poeple will say they run them ok with no problems),thats to cool for the ECU so you tend to run rich.

90% of the time this symptom is caused by bad plug wires. It was for me, even though the wires were literally brand new. Put in a new set of high quality wires. AC Delco wires are better than anything but MSD. The AC Delco's are reasonably priced too, only around $45 for a direct fit set.

Run the car at night and spray water mist at the plug wires. If it lights up, there is you problem.
