Exclamation Help with parts

Hello Everyone. I am possibly looking to buy a 90' Camaro v8. I was wondering if there are any website part companies that offer staged upgrades for torque and HP? Or offer a good and wide range selection of parts?

Also what do you think the average price is for one with 140k on it. body and engine are in ok/good shape? Let me know thanks

You should be able to get a nice one for about 4-5k. Anything you can do to a smallblock chevy you can do to the v8 that comes in the f-body u get. Just pick up a summit racing catalog.

There really aren't any staged upgrades as you talk about. Thats more of a ricer-esque term.

Like said before, grab a Summit catalogue at www.summitracing.com and have fun.

I would not expect to pay much more than $4000 for that car. I got mine 2 years ago with ~115k on it for $5000.

It will cost you !!! And yes there are places who do it and I wouldn't say that it is Ricer-esque I would say that it is a good platform for someone to start with. www.tpis.com they have cam and chip, cam, chip, head , they have all kinds of stages. But your money would be better spent with coming up with an realistic idea of what you want and where you want to go and first off... How much are or do you have to spend..?
Alot needs to be done to these cars..

First off is it a TPI?
How many Miles?
How much do or can you spend?

I would first do the Exhaust. Get some headers. 1 5/8 primaries that collect to 2.5" or 3" collectors. Do you have to run a catylitic convertor in your state? I don't in michigan. have true duals ran with X pipe somewhere in the middle ( the best place to find where to put it is paint the exhaust and drive it, where the paint is totally gone, is where the hottest part of the exhaust is and there needs to be scaveging there) put your X pipe. have the mufflers go straight from front to back ( kinda like the corvettes. ( not the new ones) If you bought the headers on here somewhere, and had a local shop do the rest your looking at like 300.00 but you will never need a better exhaust. next build some sort of ram air ducts. www.thirdgen.org has some technical articles that will show you how. Also go here..

http://www.gmtips.com/3rd-degree/dox/tips/tips.htm

Go there that guy has done lots of free things that will boost performance.
Port your plenum, he talks about it in there, Siamese your runners, and port your base. Gasket match everything.

Then get some good cheap heads.

Dart heads are good!
World Products make dart heads, there just different named for more money.

go to www.theengineshop.com

and get some aluminum motown heads, great price..

The get a good Cam nothing with a redline over 6k Your TPI won't support that anyway.

www.crower.com - Great Cams, and the technical dept will help you choose a cam that will best work for your car, just tell them what you have. Upgrade to a 52 or 58 TB and then maybe some 22 or 26lbs injectors all that is better than getting stages of phases, cause alot has to do with the chip and unless you want to learn how to burn your own chip, you will be buying lots of chips with every upgrade, so only buy one chip at the end or something.. Just some thoughts, Don't order a off the shelf chip, get one custom made for what you have and what you have done!! Off the shelf chips suck!!!
