Your gonna wanna change the motor anyway, so just get an 86-89 Iroc.. Get an iroc with your choice of manual or automatic, don't wanna go and put in or take out pedals.. T-tops or Hard top. Stay in southern states or kinda out west.. I drove from Detroit to Tulsa to get mine in 2000. 2k for 86 iroc with air, electic seat, t-tops, auto 700r-4, 305 EFI, red, no rust.. even ran, just had to hard wire the fan on the return trip. drove down and bought it and drove it back.. found the car on autotrader.com the car has only 46k on it. Good cars are out there and there not expensive.. My short block cost me more than the car!!!.. But I have it just about ready now.. It has taken me four years.. but I didn't want to redo things that I have done already because I had to settle for things.. Money is a huge factor to run 11's or faster

Find a caprice with a 350. It basically bolts right in and you can use the throttle body and all the acessories from your 305 (but you don't have to makes no differance since its the same thing). The only thing you need to make sure you get is the 350 knock sensor and one other small thing that I cannot remember (injectors). Ontop of that your going to need the chip from the same car but you really should make a custome one.

The caprice motor has about 220hp as opposed to your 175 now so it is a small step up. With some headers and a well tuned chip you can probably his 250. I wouldn't put any more than that infront of the 700r4 though.
