help help!! broken new head!!
Bought some heads from THEENGINESTORE through eBay for my 350 TPI. Bought some 416s fully done with .510 springs, 2.02/1.60 valves, flowed better than stock etc, non ported and press in studs. My cam is only .480 lift and it pulled the studs. So I got some screw in studs that don't have to have the stud boss milled (so I can do it on the head). Well one of the studs was flared out and beaten on the bottom, so weird and my camera sucks and can't convey what it looks like, but as I was tightening the nut to pull the old stud out, the stud boss broke off in two places.
Is it worth ripping these heads off and attempting to have someone ghetto weld it back together/together to get the screw in stud in? The stud happens to be one of the studs that goes down into the intake runner. Or spend $699 that I don't have and get some complete ProTopLine heads that HAVE screwinstuds and MUCH better performance?
Any input would be great!

My motto is "Do it right, or do it again". Sounds to me like you've come too far to redneck it. Take it to a WELL PROVEN machine shop, and let them fix it properly. should be less than 700 bucks for a new set of heads.
E-mail me if I can help in any way.

If I'm picturing the damage correctly in my head, then the head is toast.
416's aren't very expensive heads anyways, buying 1 new one should be easy.
416's also respond very well to porting. I'd recommend doing a little research, and taking a grinder to them.
