This is kinda simple minded but, 1) go to the highway 2) reach a speed of around 80mph 3) floor it. If the car makes a lot of noise and goes nowhere its a 305. If it still has some acceleration its a 350. LOL

Look at the front right hand side of the engine next to the water pump, there is a flat surface that has numbers stamped on it. You are looking for (example) V 01 01 SDK, The first letter is the plant (Flint ), then month (Jan), day, and engine code(sdk)being a 305. If your code is SNA, or SNB you have a 350. SDD, SDK, SFL,SFP,and SFS are the engine codes for a 305 TPI.

or just look at the back of the block driver side top beside and down from the distributor it will be stamped 5.0 or 5.7l
