need a balancer for my 383 which one? FLUIDAMPR?

I want to get an aftermarket balancer for my 383..its internally balanced and had a 6.75 stock balancer on it...

I was told I could get any aftermaket and any size as long as it was for a internally balanced motor...

will a FLUIDAMPR 7 1/4 work? or not? or does it have to be 6 3/4 or 8"

can someone point me in the right direction..link? so I can buy one

I spoke with Tim at Summitracing, free tech line #(330)630-0240, and he asked what crank you used. I didn't know, but he said usually 383 use an enternal balance. I told him you said it was internal. He said if that is true you can use any that would fit a 5.7 350. But I would call them. They really are nice to deal with. Please post the solution. Good luck. Is the 383 in your Camaro or something else?

Yeah I called FLUIDAMPR and asked them about it and they told me the same thing..that if it is internally balanced that any neutral balanced dampner would work, so Im going to gt one of theirs.....thanks for all the help....

yeah the 383 is going in my car, its on the engine stand right now waiting on my heads to get here from AFR and for me to pick a cam out so I can finish it up...I still gotta get my old 305 outta the car...but I have it atleast tore down to the short block...

You can save a significant amount of money by purchasing a viscous damper with SFI rating. I purchased and installed a Pioneer brand damper on my 385 stroker based on recommendations from SCAT engineers, who prefer standard dampers.

I have a 6.25 inch, Pioneer harmonic balancer, part number 2021, I believe. It's SFI approved and quite light which is good for revability! I bought it back in 2001 for about $120 or so.

Here's the damper at Summit.
