I have a 1984 camaro z28. It has the gauges dash in it. The oil pressure gauge doesnt like to read any pressure for about 30-45 minutes of driving, then it will sit their and bounce around all the time. I know the oil pressure is good, because (a) it is a new oil pump, and (b) it has a mechanical gauge in the engine compartment that reads just fine. The fuel gauge bounces around all over the place as well, especially when stopping. Can anyone please tell me what is happening? Or at least an opinion or two?

Check for a loose wire or a bad ground. Did you use teflon tape when you threaded in the sender for the stock gage? It needs good solid metal contact to work. Mechanicals don't need a good ground....cause they're mechanical.
