Heated O2 Sensor Question

alright, i already got my heated o2 sensor from discount auto... now here's my question. i know one white wire goes to ground, the colored wire goes to the ecm, and then the other white wire goes to an accessory only power wire.... does anyone have a pic of how they connected the white wire to an accessory wire or the fuse box? i don't have any examples to go on and since im doing this with a lot of afro-engineering, i don't wanna mess it up anything you guys could help me with would be greatly appriciated.

I wired mine into the cabin and then hooked it to a switched hot source. Found a fuse and checked it with a test light. Find a few fuses that are not ECM or INJ switches. Basically accessory fuses. Check with test light if it is hot with key off. If not, turn key on and see if it is hot. If it works that is the positive you want. The negative can be any ground source including the engine block.

Quick and dirty? You can place the wire across one of the fuse blades and push it in place.

If you really wanted to get slick, you could simply cut the wire going into the fuse block of the fuse you selected and solder a positive in it but that is unnecessary.

I found a switched 12v source under the hood, and used a splice to connect the two.

For me, it was the 12v wire to the charcoal canister. Not like its hooked up anyways

Is it constantly hot or switched hot. I wouldn't think the cansiter would have switched power to it all day long.

I dont' have a pic of it now, and its dark out, so perhaps another time

it has a switched 12v source wire, the purge cycle is controlled by the ecm when it grounds the module like it does the fan relay

hope that helps

or you can tap into the switch 12v source for your fuel pump or cooling fans. I'd rather mess with the wiring going to something much less important, but thats just me
