hollyflowtech also makes a shorty header i ordered mine through summit pn-big-11102flt,they also offer an x over pipe just for the third gen,not saying this is the best performance way to go,but definitly better than those gm logs.

Theres no difference over stock with 1 1/2 primarys, 2 inch Y pipe, thats why they are so cheap.

Hooker 2460's. They sell a damn good y-pipe for it too, but I can't remember it and its a little pricey.

Just got a pair of Hedman shorties and Y-pipe for around $250 from summit--they suffice and do a decent job...OK with them now.

What type of header gaskets do most on this forum use? Experienced users feel free to reply lol

Summit has been good to me before, thanks for the link too!
I have the 1-5/8 hedmanns w/ the y-pipe and love them. Buy some good gaskets though. The paper ones suck. I also have the stage 8 locking bolts, and they work, kinda. You have to retighten them, after the install and a warm up. If not youll be replacing the gaskets soon.
I have the dead soft aluminum flange gaskets, and they seem to work. Ill replace the head to header gasket when I swap the engine.
