Quite a task. Some starter questions. Flywheel or crank? Biggest thing, what kind of injection are you running now? All I can say, without boring/stroking it:

Heads (SR Torquers maybe)
Cam
Stealth Ram
Bolt on's

That's to start and may not even see 350rwhp...ah you could always juice it

There is no replacement for displacement. Also, How fast you wanna go actually means How much you have to spend.

You need the EPROM to be reprogrammed if you really want to make power. You also need to change induction and exhaust and definately the heads and cam.. 350 at the wheels means a tad over 400 at the crank or thereabouts.

hehe

It can be done with a GOOD intake possibly even single plane, a 650cfm carb, a pretty aggressive roller cam and a stout valvetrain because this HP will be made at a pretty high rpm. Dan Burke's car for example uses stock 84 heads ported by himself, he has a flat tappet cam in the 218/224 range with probably .480"'ish lift, I would go a step more aggressive, again matched with a carb and single plane intake. Sure the 305 will lose torque by doing this but if this guy wants 350hp and doesn't care about torque production, that's his bag.

Dan B's car I believe made 275hp at the wheels thru an auto trans at that(correct me if I'm wrong Dan!), and was trapping 101+mph in a full weight car with terrible traction I think he could have done more head work, more cam, and Hp would have bumped up more. Maybe even run a .015" head gasket and mill the head even for a comp. ratio closer to 10:1. Goodluck!

Oh yeah and if you're doing the EFI route, An LT1 intake or StealthRam might get the job done. along with hours of tuning, blah blah blah.

HP can be measured at the crank with an engine dyno. That is when they strap the engine down to a dyno and figure out the power. Chasis dyno is when the strap the car down onto rollers and measure the HP. If you have 100 HP at the crank, after going thru the drivetrain and what not, you might have 80 at the wheels.

for as much $ as it would cost to get it out of that motor (unless you are going to spray) u may want to consider a LT1 or LS1 swap. u can get 350 RWHP with either of those very easily.

I know the difference between power at the crank and power at the wheels. I dont, however know the difference between power at the crank and power at the flywheel.

I don't think there is any difference because the flexplate or flywheel is bolted to the crank. Same thing I would assume.

How about a 383 swap with better intakes like SR, HSR or if you really want to be cheap LT1 intake.

....it'd probably be cheaper to put a 350 in it. A Crate motor may be as your still not going to be at your 350 Horse Power with an LT1 unless you do bolt on's. Bill...

He's looking for bolt on's, cam, and heads. Who said a new motor? Just gotta give you a hard time Brant.

In all honesty, you might want to consider a 350.

I think my post up top should net you close to what you're looking for though. Perhaps browse www.stealthram.com
