I went the cheap way, SLP take out unit (must have been one of thier last ones), GM 3.42 gears and full rebuild kit.

How much did all that cost you minus the install? I got mine installed for just $100. Yeah it might not be bullet proof but good enough for now I guess.

I guess it was $100 bucks also cause the rearend was out of the car but even a GM dealer quoted me $170

I had gotten a used rearend out of a 90 RS so I could get the 28 spline axles. Then I just pulled all the stuff out of it and cleaned and painted it...took it to the guy with all the new/used stuff to go in. So that made it alot easier for anyone to do it. My old 2.73 posi rear is out and the new rearend is in, Im just waiting on my speedo gears to come in from GM and also my ES torque arm bushing...then I'll be done!......put the wheels back on and roll! drive it to a exhaust shop and have them weld in my SFC's and see what kind of a difference the 3.42's make...im going to the track Friday and Monday to see how it all improves my 1/8 ET's...I was at 9.3 so hopefully I'lll get closer to the 8's Then next friday Im getting a 2800 stall from either West Coast Converter or Edge racing....Im sure with all that I'll be in the 13's at the 1/4 track!...
