Guys, I need some parts and need to know what I should get.
Ok, I will be getting a new ignition system in the form of a new distributor and coil. I have an '89 so that means that I have the remote mount coil. I need a new distributor. MSD makes one, are they a good bang for the buck? I plan on spending somewhere around $250 or so on a distributor. The Coil- should I get a Blaster 2 or somthing else?
Injectors- Why should I stick with my original plan of 24#'ers rather than somthing bigger like 30#'ers?
Stage 8 locking header bolts. They are gonna rock.
Line Lock? What do they cost? I have never seen one. Who makes an adequate unit thats not gonna break the bank? I have already spent some $1200 this winter including buying my $500 seats.
Cost effectiveness is key.
What do you guys have? Gimme some options. I NEED higher performance stuff than what is factory.

Whats wrong with your current distributor? There's nothing wrong with the stock ones that require spending $250 on an aftermarket one. The same goes for those ignition boxes, too.
You dont need 30# injectors for your current setup. They'll just make your engine too rich. And if you get 24#'s you'll need a custom chip to go with them, dont forget. With that cam you should be looking into one anyway.
You dont need more high performance stuff. You need to optimize your current combo, first. Those mods you have should get you 13.4 at 103 MPH right now.

i have to agree with him........
i'm running "stock" gm electrical parts with no problems whatsoever and it was alot cheaper.
line locks shouldn't cost you much more than 100+ range. do you really need one?
have to agree with the injectors as well, with the larger comes more expensive everything........bigger lines, different program, etc. unless you need it stick with what you have.
no sense in burning up money that can be spent elsewhere.

The 24 lb injectors will support over 400 hp. The stock ign system will handle up to 7000 rpm regardless of what you hear or read sometimes. If you want to spend an extra $50 on a upgraded coil that would be fine but you do not need a distributor. Your biggest gain right now would be a decent set of heads without going overboard on the flow ratings. 190 cc Edelbrocks would knock an easy 1/2 second off your e.t. You could get your L98 heads professionally done but it would probably cost you around $500 and you might as well spend another $600 for a set of decent heads. I know you ordered your Stealth Ram setup and that will help but you will need better heads then the L98 to probably get the most potential from the Stealth setup. I installed 60cc chamber 170cc Edelbrock heads on my son's car along with a Crane 2032 (452/465 lift), shorty Edelbrock headers, 3:73 gears, A/T. He runs anywhere from 13.20's to 13.40's still using 19 lb injectors and stock TPI setup and a '88 corvette prom. As mentioned, tune in what you have and save some bucks.

I am getting my heads done. They are at the machine shop right now actually. I am getting them professionally done and its costimg me $350. This is for 2.02 1.60 install, porting (and polishing) and screw in stud install. They should be pretty decent when they come back to me. I get a deal from these guys. I bring a lot of work to them. And I know the family
Ok, I'll stick with the factory ignition stuff... I am getting a new coil though.
Injectors. 24#'ers it is then. I will be burning a custom chip to let the car know whats going on under the hood.
Holley Stealth Ram. Thats gonna be a fun install! Its so simple.
Time will tell. Thanks guys. Looks like I am getting a new PC sooner than I thought.
