Which Ground Effects Look Better?

I got an 86 iroc with the old, smooth looking ground effects, but I am considering changing to the new style ground effects like the ones found on 92's and whatnot....what do you guys think looks better? should I leave the ones I have, or should I change them? How hard would they be to change??

Re: Which Ground Effects Look Better?

I like the old Iroc gfx but I also like the 91-92 gfx. I would like change mine over to the 91-92 gfx and 91-92 Z28 spolier on my car. Shouldn't be too hard to changed out the gfx but they won't be cheap to buy from the prices I have seen. If I am going to do it, I'll get the true Z28 gfx and not the RS gfx even though the only differance is the badge, but that is just me.

I was debating about getting a new Z hood, but then decided I am going with a 3" cowl because I will need the clearance for the Stealthram and I don't want to butcher a 91/92 Z hood.

i love my gfx
i like the thought of keeping your car factory look but if you go with the 91-92s, you won't be disappointed
i think it makes the car look different, yet still a very clean look

how much can they be bought for? I would just get the RS because i'll just shave that inlet where the badge goes and have no badge...i think they would look sharp with my new ss hood, the styling matches up pretty good...

Re: Which Ground Effects Look Better?

I have an 86, when I got it all I wanted was the newer gfx with the scoops, then I went and looked at some on my buddies mustang and other camaros I found that the scoops collect alot of debris and dirt. Hard to clean, and harder to get new paint in there. They look good from a distance.. In the end, less maintenance, smoother look, less money too.. I want to stay true to my car (at least the look, since everything else is new just about) Thought about heritage stripes also, but that wasn't my car. my car is an 1986 Iroc Z28 T-top Automatic, Red.. It isn't what it's not. It is what it is..

Re: Which Ground Effects Look Better?

I always liked the look of the newer style ground effects. I changed them on my last iroc, it really made the car look sweet.

Re: Which Ground Effects Look Better?

Re: Which Ground Effects Look Better?

I dont remember exactly, but I do remember that I ended up going to the hardware store to get different fasteners and washers for the front piece. But nothing that needed to be professionally fabircated. You should be able to do it in your driveway.
