Got a T-56, question about flywheel

I have about everything I need to swap in my new T56, except for the flywheel. I do have the stock flywheel from my L03, will that work? I already know it fits the new engine, but will it work with the T56 clutch or not?

Thanks!

I assume you're using a stock tranny from a 4th gen car. If you're using an aftermarket tranny, none of this applies.

The T-56 requires a very specific clutch pattern...if you're putting it behind an '87 or newer block then you can use a stock LT1 flywheel. If it's an early-model engine you need a conversion flywheel from Centerforce. No matter what you're putting it behind, and LO3 flywheel will not work. Also....it is an LT1 tranny, right? Because an LS1 tranny won't fit anything but an LS1.....

It's a newer then 87 block so the LT1 flywheel will fit. Thanks for the info man! And yes it is a LT1 style T56, it's just a brand new replacement.

Can you give me a list of EVERYTHING you got for the T56 swap? Tell me what I'm missing:
-Tranny
-Flywheel
-Clutch
-Shifter
-Bellhousing?
-Clutch Hydros?
-Master/Slave Cylinder?
What else?
I'm converting from a 5-speed car to the T56. Thanks man and SWEET car. on the opening page that blue is so sweeeeet!

Thanks man, just had it painted about 2 years ago. It's actually a custom mix, it's like a shade darker then the ultra metallic blue, has some pearl in it and it was apinted over a silver base coat. I like it, definatly unique.

Ok, as for the tranny, you also need the clutch/brake pedal assembly off of a 4th gen. 4th gen pedal assemblies also have the gas pedal attached, I just cut that off with a cutting wheel and used my stock gas pedal with the 4th gen brake/clutch assembly. Remember it must be all LT1 parts (I actually don't know what might work off of a LS1 car). Also somehting about the speedo having to be adapted, I haven't jumped that hurdle yet.

Stock 3rd gen T-5 pedals will work. The clutch master cylinder is identical to the T-5 piece. You'll also need a modified crossmember...Spohn makes a nice one.

As far as the speedo goes: since you both have '92's your factory speedos are electronic and all you need is a signal convertor. Go to Dakota Digital and look up their SGI-5 converter. It'll take care of it.
