Got my 3rd 3rd gen today !

Yea i saw a IROC for sale on my way home from work... turns out he only wanted $800 for it and it runs.. Interior in terrible shape, paints decent... And its yellow (rare from what i hear)

TPI 350 motor runs rough and its pretty slow... doesn't pull as hard as the v6

But this got me thinking. I really want to drop a ls1 and then from there put mabye $1500-2000 in it over the next year or so..... I'm really excited and now i have 3 camaros parked outside my house mabye its officially a collection

Anyone have any links about a L98 to ls1 swap or any advise on the topic

yep, they are pretty rare.
What year is it?
May want to consider restoring that one to original.
Would like to get rid of my fourth-gen so I can get my third third-gen!

If your thinking you can do a LS1 swap for 1-2k, you are mistaken.

LS1tech.net
Thirdgen.org

Both good places to SEARCH for information regarding LS1 swaps.

I was saying do ls1 swap and from there put 1-2k, i know it isn't cheap.

Its an 88, and i didn't know yellow was that rare

I would like to restore the car but in the shape its in now thats gonna be tough, I've completly restored the white 88 iroc-z for the most part. I'll be able to do the same with this one

As for the motor i believe it needs a new one the car has 210k miles on it and its leaking oil from the valve covers thats an easy fix but its also burning alot of oil(ALOT) from what i can see. I've been looking at several crate motors to do a swap but since i'm going to swap why not drop a ls1 in. Then again i might just keep the TPI and get a crate 350. Its tough to say what i want to do at this point, i'm just glad i got the car and i probably wont ever get rid of it. It's probably gonna stay in the garage for a while slowly fix interior. Good news is the paint is actually really nice after i washed it up, guess i got lucky on that

nice find...hell you could always strip it down and make a badass sleeper.

i've seen some fire-breathing SBC crate motors that would be a simple swap. maybe a nice 427ci small block

"TTIWWOP"

this thread is worthless with out pics
