Going to carb

If I put a new intake and Carb on my fuel injected car... and then put a mechcanical fuel pump on the motor will the electric fuel pump still work or does it have to be removed from the tank...if so how do I get gas up to the carb...what has to be done to make it work this way.

Pull out the electric pump, then just put a peice of hose in its place. However then you wont have the filter pick-up in teh tank so I suggest you run an extra in line filter.
