Im interested in getting gears for my car(1991 Z28) and am wondering what info I need to know about the rear end in my car before I get them. I know I have 323s right now and I heard there are two types of rearends with one being Australian. How can I tell which rearend I have cause the Australian gears are twice the price. My car is a 350CID 1LE car with a 700R4.Thanks.

 

Count the number of bolts on the rear cover. 10 = 10 bolt and in 91 that should be a 7 5/8 ring gear and 28 spline axles. If it has 9 bolts and a rubber fill plug on the cover and is stamped borg warner on the bottom, then it's the 9 bolt (australian). If you need parts for the 9 bolt, go here www.9bolt.com
