i have an 85 z-28 with a 94 lt-1 in it and it's time to change to a new rear end. it is stripped for autocross and it is fast and light!! should i put in a 3.73 gear set or 4.10? anyone running this set-up?

 

If its automatic, I'd go 3:73... manual, 4:11 (as the T5/T56 is geared higher). That's just my personal opinion, and I've seen that work quit well for others.

 

3.73's are good all around gear's decent off the line and a nice high way gear.
4.11's are more racey yet you could run 65mph but any thing lower then 4.11 is unessary.
don't get talked in to 4.56 gears they'll get you out of the hole fast and run 0-75 like you was 11 second car but at 75 - 80 mph your car will fall flat on its face as where it might do the same around 90 mph with the 4.11's.
but remeber LT-1's are strong low to mid engine's so don't get to geared it will get funky.
reemeber when you switch gears your speedo will be off and the faster you the further off it get's.
