gauge cluster!!!
You could (and in order to do what you want, probably have to) replace the whole dash, but I think the shape of the gauge cluster for an 84 itself is different from the 90-92s. Also, the 90-92s are electronic, so you'd need all the wiring and such, which I dont think the drivetrain will physically accept. You can get conversion kits for the transmission (if its a 700r4) to make the crossover to the electronic readout, but I dont know what you'd do about the others, like the oil, temp, and others...
For me, it would be WAY too much work...I'd probably just either stick with the 84's cluster, or buy an aftermarket one...if I had all the tools and ambition (and craft), I might make my own cluster, which could be really cool if you took your time on it.
