finally got my car start 836740 problems and then some later i ran into another one (havent asked any questions about the last ones since dam comp went down for a while ) but now i figured its back up now worth a shot my car (350 tpi, vortec heads ,aftermarket runners, 24lb'ers , ) starts up fine but if you dont hit the gas it jsut stalls but will run if you keep the rpms up around 1500 or higher it runs with some poppin and such i think i have a vacum leak some wear (sprayed some carb cleaner by the injecters and and runners and it revved up) so think that would be vaccum leak and about the popping think that would be the valves to tight ? any help appreachiated thanx steve

you have a vacuum leak thats why it won`t run under 1500, put new O rings on the injecters. and the popping sound I geuss is back fireing so check your timming and it could be the valves.

To ajust the valves mark the balincer with a marker in 1/4`s so if you have the engine at TDC the timming mark will be on top of the balincer so mark a line on the bottem then 1/2 way between the lines mark two more lines, So start at TDC on number 1 tighten the rockers and turn the push rod at the same time JUST as the push rod stops to turn tighten the rocker a 1/4 turn, do that for both valves now turn the engine to the next mark on the balincer and go to number 8 and do the same thing follow the firering order till all 16 vavles are done.
