Which gaskets?

Yanked off the top end of my L98 TPI motor. Need complete set of upper/lower intake manifold gaskets. Any recommendations on brands/part numbers would be greatly appreciated as I don't want to put something in there that is no good only to have to rip it out later.

Also, for the lower intake, do I need to use any gasket sealant along with the gaskets, or should just the gaskets do?

Stock GM gaskets will be fine. On the ends of the motor, do not use the gasket. Use a RTV silicone bead.

putting any sealant on the intake manifold gaskets is something you dont want to do. unless its a couple drops to hold the gaskets to the heads. use black rtv sealant for the front and rear of the intake instead of the junk rubber gaskets. id use a fel pro gasket set.

So I guess the front and rear gaskets have a habit of leaking then? That may explain why I've got oil all over the place and the engine was rebuilt not too long ago. They infact used those rubber gaskets.

Wipe the surface off very throughly with brake cleaner to get all the oil off then put the taskets and tack the ends down with RTV and also run the bead at the fron and the back of the block. Make sure the intake manifold is clean too otherwise it may leak.

Fel-Pro makes a set including all the gaskets you need. Any good auto parts store should have them for about $25.00
