how does the gas tank come out I have everything off but the neck of the tank won't come out

Had to do it twice last summer!!! The neck is a pain, it took two of us. One under the car and one with a big screwdriver to very gently "pursuade" the neck while the first keeps twisting and turning it from underneath. Be Patient, it WILL come out. I have been told that the neck can be bent quite a bit without breaking the bead off the tank. I didn't chance it. You have to move everything out of the way, then let the rear end drop to get the clearance. Takes me about an entire afternoon to drop it, work on it, then replace everything. Good Luck!!

 

did it! I bent the neck car runs like a champ w/ the new pump
however its not that easy getting it back in eitheresspecially when your by yourself
