Fuel Rails?

Has anybody ever taken out the fuel rails without taking off the runners? I had a clogged return line from the regulator, so I disassembled the whole upper intake and valve covers to get the rails out and replaced all the o-rings. Now there's a leak from the pressure side of the rails. I guess I didn't clean the fittings well enough. The passenger side valve cover was a bitch to get off/on and I really don't want to remove it again. Are there any shortcuts you guys would recommend? Thanks for any help.

Re: Fuel Rails?

I've taken my fuel rails many times and have never touched the valve covers. The runners must come off, however, but they can be reached with a wobbler on the end of the socket extension. The last time I was in there I put a slight nick in the o-ring and it leaked like a b!tc$!!. I hope this helps - good luck
