Found why my check engine light was on.

Fuse was blown for the ECM IGN. Found this out when I finally got access to a OBD 1 scan tool today. Good old fashoined GM diagnostic key wouldn't work, and I was like wtf? When I got the scan tool hooked up it said no data to ALDL. Nice huh? Amazing how much better the car runs all the sudden.

Moral of this story. If your check engine light is one, and you tried everything, and couldn't get it to flash by means of jumping the terminals, it has no power going to the ALDL.

Yeah dude, Is your car running like crap, or noticeably different since the lights been on? The fuse that was blown on my fuse panel was called ECM IGN. It was the first fuse from the top left. A 10 amp one. Good luck.
