HSR help

Just installed my HSR tonight on my 91 Z28 and I'm havin some serious throttle linkage clearance problems. By serious I mean I can't even mount my throttle body without mounting it at half throttle. I've heard that some guys have to shave the linkage bracket to clear, but that's not an option for me. I'd have to almost cut the whole thing off! I'm hoping that someone else ran into this problem and found a soultion that I overlooked. Any help would be great cuz I'm lost in the woods right now!!!

TIA

You must have something installed wrong. I had no mounting problems at all for my factory throttle bracket and cable asm. Are you using the stock throttle body, bracket and cables? Re-check your work....

Yeah, I'm using the stock throttle body and hardware. (what I could reuse) I can promise you that nothing is hooked up wrong. It just doesn't fit!!!!!!! I can't even get the TB to the plenium. The linkage hits that bad!!!

Did you happen to remove the two cables out of the throttle bracket when you mounted it and then mistakingly put the the cables in the wrong retaining holes on the bracket? Try reversing the order of the cables in the bracket....

I see you also posted this in the HSR board. I will be using my Accel TB so I am kinda curious too. In any case, TTIWWP. Could you take a pic so we know what we are looking at?

I am using the Accel TB and because of where I have the kickdown cable, I can't tell if it works but the CC and the accelerator cable seem to work with the exception that the accelerator cable seems a little short. Any known way to lengthen it?

I never took the bracket of the throttle body so the cables can't be switched. I will get some pics tonight to post so everyone can see what I'm talking about...

I don't have a stock unit to compare it to but compared to the ACCEL Superram unit, the top edge where the TB mounts to and the bottom edge of where the TB mounts to is different. The top endge is sticks out a little more than the bottom. Perhaps they are trying to make you buy a Holley unit. Anyone run an ACCEL TB with the HSR?

I would just throw one of those helix throttle body spacers on there and that should give you the clearance. I am going to get the stealth ram and I heard of that problem, so I figured the spacer would be good, But I am not sure though.

Can't do that because it is too short so a spacer would only make things worse.

Well I got my throttle body on tonight after quite a bit of grinding on the linkage, and now I see what you're talking about. My cable is a bit too short too....

You ground what on the TB? Or do you mean the stop on the pedal area?
