Flowmaster 80 series
where is the cheapest place to buy flowmaster 80 series crossflow muffler? is there a cheap place on the net, or would a local dealer be cheaper because then i wouldn't have to pay shipping???
I got mine from a guy on this forum and I paid about 85 Dollars I think and I even got pipes with it. But when I went to have it installed they offered a set of Chrome Pipes for 50 Bucks and I jumped on it lol

do major exhaust companies stamp their name on the muffler? Because on my car, it kinda sounds like an aftermarket muffler, but it could be just because its startin to wear out or something...I looked on the muffler, and all i saw was numbers and stuff, I just wanna know what kind of muffler it is to see if i want to buy a new one..
mufflers dont wear out man, they can rust out tho. i know companies like Flowmaster and Dynomax have thier name stamped on the muffler as well as all the others im sure. if it just has #'s im sure its a stock one. i remember when i had the stock muffler on my car when i first got it,it was really deep but not loud.
I am running the American Thunder CAT back from Flowmaster with a Magnaflow high flow CAT. It came with the 80 series muffler.( I talked to the tech at flowmaster and he explained that there is no difference in the sound between the 40 and the 80 . Its just that the 80 series is the 1 in and 2 out for our single CAT set-ups, and the 40 series is the 1 in 1 out for the duel CAT setup. ( I would imagine the duel set-up would be louder ). Flowmaster is also now offering the 44 Magnum in the 80 series I think. Supposed to be a even more aggressive tone. I'm very happy with my choice and have also found the sound to have a deeper growl to it over time. Cant wait to put on my Hedman Hedders next.
newB searched cat backs or something.
awesome...my opinion for the 900th time
A 40 series is deep, loud, and great.. An 80 is terrible but that's my opinion. I've only heard a few hundred F-body's with cat backs and I've never EVER liked the sound of an 80 series over anything else. Hooker, Dynomax, SLP, Spintech, B&B, Borla, and Moroso spiral flows all rule over a flow 80 series. Goodluck!

Yea I have it. My system is: 80 series, Dynomax free flow cat. conv., 3" catback, Edelbrock ti-tech shorties.
My engine is a crate Vortec 360HP TPI motor so it might be louder on my car than most other TPI motors.

I had a super turbo on my trans am. Back when it was bone stock, it wasn't very loud but it had a nice tone when you really layed into it.
after I deleted the cat and put on headers i went with a flowmaster 80 and it sounded great.
on my new 4th gen I have the 60 series. no joke, sounds like a tiger lol

I had a flowmaster 80 on my 91RS but I ditched it for an edelbrock RPM catback. I love the RPM, and changing the Flow to the RPM was one of the best decisions I made. I have a sound clip somewhere, but I cant seem to find it. Once I do, I will post it up in the video section on here
it is an exhaust leak, im pretty sure... but that is all getting taken care of when the L98 get put in sometime in the next few days
