Flowmaster 80 series

How loud is this muffler? I want it because it fits in the stock location, but if its not any louder than like a turbo muffler I don't think I want it then....Anybody run this muffler on their car?

I have it on my 3" catback and is pretty damn loud. I am very pleased with the sound level and tone.

Yes id say so.

What I really love about the 80 series is the bass it puts out. You can really feel it when you start the car. Ive set off a few car alarms just starting my car next to theirs, not even reving.

The 80 series is quieter than the 40....I have an 80 in my '91 with Hedman headers and no cat. The tone is awesome and she really rumbles at idle. I get constant compliments...even from cops.

Spintech has a totally unique design....they use sound cancellation methods instead of simple absorption. They have a very unique tone and supposedly flow better than anything else on the market. I plan to give them a shot next time I rework my exhaust.

There's nothing bad about Flowmaster, unless your local cops are really picky about noise levels.

GreatJ said most of it. i actually dispise flows. how common are they, really? i see a car idling someplace and ask "flows?" 99% of the time its a yes. i hate being common. not to mention the people that give them a bad name "got a k&n air filter and flow master mufflers on my mustang, got 70 HP" it just a common muffler that people give way to much credit to. they are also more restrictive then a lot of other mufflers on the market, and personaly i think they are over priced. some do produce a nice tone with the right engine though

go spintech, youll be very happy. and very original in your town

how would you pipe a spintech muffler....because the 80 series has an inlet and an outlet on one side, then another outlet on the other side, so it fits in the stock location...how would you pipe a spintech because they only have 1 inlet and 1 outlet....do you have any pictures? and do you have to buy a spintech from their website, or are there dealers?

I run the 80's flowmaster and I'm happy with it. Its not that its louder by alot, its still louder but its a tone preference too. I like the tone of them and once broken in too, it gets louder

Plumb it the same way my single-in/single-out 80 series is plumbed. Mount it sideways and only have one tailpipe (tucked up and hidden.) It's not as flashy but it's less restrictive and you don't pay the extra money for a crossflow muffler.

hmmm...i don't think i'm gonna do that because i don't want just a single 3 inch tip tucked up away so its not visible...I want a couple of chrome tips coming out the back...so i'm gonna have to go with a crossflow style muffler...I guess i'll just get the 80 series because the turbo mufflers only have a 2.5 inch inlet, and i want a 3 inch inlet like the 80 series has...
