First Gear Kick-down and turn signal question...

Car: 86 z-28 with 5.0 TPI and 700-r4 Transmission.

Question 1: I don't have kick down into 1st gear no matter what my speed. The tranny will kick down into 2nd or 3rd when it needs to, but not first....What can I do to take care of this?

Question 2: I want to replace my turn signal lever. How does it come off? I've never tried to take it off yet. I figured someone here has done it before. THANKS!

cant help you with the first part. About the second part if you need help with something like the turn signal lever go to www.helminc.com and order the service manual for your car. The thing costs 90 bucks but is worth its weight in gold. It contains over 3000 pages of information most of which also has pictures to go along with it that tell you how to do everything from replacing turn signals to completly dissassembling and re assembling your a/c compressor. This manual will tell you how to do just about any repair you will ever need to do on your car. trust me its one of the best investments you will ever make on your car!

and now that ive gotten off my lazy *** and gone to get my service manual i can help you. I havent had to change the light yet so i dont know this from experience but in the book it looks like you have to reach under the front cowl? but there are just two bolts in the back of it that you take out and then the thing slides out.
