Exhaust Man. Gasket blowing like a hooker
K, here's the run down on the car:
'84 Camaro w/'85 2.8L V6
bored .020 over, milled heads, Crane Cam, remanufactured crank, clevite pistons, sealed chrome piston rings, K&N filters (w/cold air), accel plugs/wires/coil, hypertech chip/160 deg thermo (I'm in Texas), Walker hi-flo cat, flomaster muffler, dualed out;
Basically my problem is that About every 6-9 months I blow my passenger side exhaust manifold gasket. On occasion when I shift to the next gear i hear a popping noise coming from near the MAF...so basically it's up front, not a backfire. I'm just getting really tired of changing these gaskets because it's a real pain in the a$$. Anyone have any ideas as to why it would be blowing? All systems appear to be running normally. I can always tell when the gasket has gone because of the noise and it idles like crap. Please, any ideas would be most appreciated.
