I have a 84 z28 and i was thinking about doing an exhaust setup, from off of each headers a 2 foot straight pipe going into two mufflers with turn downs, i was wondeing is that possible, and does any one have that setup up already on there 3rd gen camaro

Yes that exhaust has been done a cagillion times on thirdgens. I personally don't like the turndowns under the car, cuz pipes out the back look way cooler. You could do it, but depending on what kind of muffler you go with you'd be sacrificing a little bit of ground clearance. There is a site that has a bunch of "true dual" exhaust setups on thirdgens. I'll see if I can find the link later on.

 

I don't care for the cool factor but I would question the setup because it sounds like it is going to vent under the car. I want exhaust as far from the car as possible because if you are idling, it could be a problem when the CO comes into the cabin.
