Arrow estimated outcome against 94z28

What do you think would be the outcome of a race against stock 94 z28 a4 posi 2:73?

My mods are 355,flat top pistons, 10 to 1 comp, ported and polished 305 heads, comp mag. 270 cam, weiand exlerator single plane intake, 750 edelbrock carb, 700r4 with shift kit, hedman headers and y-pipe, no cat and 3in flowmaster american thunder cat back, 2:73 posi rear.

So your best guess on the race winner would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Have you ever had your car to the track?

Most LT1 / A4 2.73 cars run 13.9-14.3 stock

Sounds like you should beat him as long as your car is tuned right. It appears you got all the right parts in it..

But it might come down to the driver.

Good luck

your biggest restriction is probably your heads. if you lose its their fault.

I think you stand a good chance as long as you get the power to the ground. Make sure you get the tires sticky and show the late model some dust!

Sound like you "should" win. One thing though. Why the 305 heads? I'm new to the computer and the boards so don't bust my b***s. Thank you.

Did you upgrade the valve size in the 305 heads? What casting number are they? 416? I have seen a couple of people flow these heads and with only upgrading the intake valve size to 1.94 they flow about the same as L98 heads. There is a guy on thirdgen that flowed his stock vortec heads and flowed his ported 416 305 heads and had 10 more cfm on the 305 heads than the vortecs. He has also done a few sets before so experience can help. Basically all I am saying is it is possible to make ok power through 305 heads if you get them set up right. Also, you get a higher compression ratio which can help a bit too.

I had a 96 A4 with those gears, and I never went to the track, but I think they are 14.0-14.4 cars. Never seen any run worse than a 14.4...but who knows. I would think your car has an advantage, but as said before it comes down to not getting jumpy off the line.

I think it'll be too close to call. I would make sure a set of gears is next on your mod list. You will beat that 4th gen for sure then

The results are posted in the track kills forum.

I'm thinking that i should add a 2400 stall, 3:73 gears, and 1:6 roller rockers to help make sure I beat the stock Lt1s with out any problems.

The stall and gears will take care of that problem. The 1.6 RR's might not do too much though... I would spend the $ on a used nitrous kit or something.

Sounds like you need some better heads, should be able to whomp on a stock LT1 A4 with a decent set of heads with that setup you've got.... You could run a set of stock Vortecs with that cam with no trouble, $420ish. Or you could step up a bit in the cam and go with a set of Vortecs modded for better valve springs/more lift. Scoggin Dickey has some for like $600 pre-modded for the pair I believe. Vortec intake $200ish either way...

Some people get some power out of the ported 305s, but it seems to be common to get pretty lackluster performance out of them too, always cringe when someone says they have some on a otherwise good motor setup...
