Which engine would be better a rebuilt 350 with 10 to 1 comprassion or a 383?

 

Umm, thats kinda a no brainer. The 383 build with similar components is gonna make more power.

 

Yea i know that but i was just gonna go to jegs or somethign and see if they had a 383 engine i could buy no comprassion rates or anything changed on it i dont know much bout rebuilding engines.

 

Actually I just read a good article today about buying crate engines. How much are you wiling to spend, and what kinda numbers are you lookin for? Daily driver, weekend warrior? You have to be a little more specific.

 

On a budget - 350 w/ 10:1
No $ Limit - 383

All in how much you got. And as Darth asked: daily driver or weekend warrior?

Its a daily driver but it wont be soon once i get it decked out i have a limit but im saving more so i say no limit just going for whats best really.

 

what sort of stuff did it talk about? I'm curious because im going to either building or buying a 383 short block havent made up my mind yet....was wondering if any of the info could help me out....im shooting for 500 + hp (lets just say im a few year down the road from this one but any info youd have would be cool when it comes down to making these purchases)
