engine temp sensor?
where is it located on an 86 iroc 305? the gauge moves when i start up but then shows no temp. i guess the gauge is ok. i'm assuming it's the temp sensor.
my fan is hooked to direct to a switch and is not controled at all by the car. would that have anything to do with my problem?

the reason i ask is that the idoits at the emmissions test center said they would not test my car with the gauge not working. when i asked them why she said "we can't be responsible if your engine overheats and blows during testing". Can you believe that sheet!? i opened the hood and laid my hand on the engine and told her the engine is cold, WTF? How long are you planning to test it? the test takes 5 minutes. the engine cools fine, the gauge just isn't reading. since when do you test gauges?
needless to say my arguement fell on deaf (and dumb) ears. What is with the people who work in these places?
