worked on 2 cars that had them and both times I had SERIOUS problems even getting to spark plugs. PErsonally I'd go with SLP's, Headmans, or Hooker Long Tubes if you were lookin to get that serious. Ceramic coating might not seem worth it at first but once your headers rust, you'll agree it should have been done. And the underhood tempurature drop and the fact that they LOOK great forever with the coating...you get what I mean. Godluck!

i have slps and it is a royal pain to get at the plugs but it is possible (well due to the smog pump the 6 and 8 plugs have to be done from underneath the car ) and from what ive heard the hooker long tubes are hard to install there are some clearance problems. Aftermarket headers are not meant for ease of use (is anything on these cars?!?!?) theyre ment for performance....you shouldnt need to change your plugs often enough to make it not worth it although be ready for one night of hell whenever you have to.

Got the complete edelbrock system on mine with angle plug heads. Modified a box spanner to get to the difficult plugs but its not to much of a pain (no air con or smog pump though). Good quality headers I think, 16 gauge steel and a good fit. Also agree with autoroc on the ceramic coating.

Yes they will fit stock heads but I dont think you can get them without the air tubes. I blocked mine off. Only prob I had was getting the right combination of bolts and spacers right for fitting the power steering pump / air con bracket back on . Just make sure of the clearance around oil cooler/ brake lines. Angle plug heads are as it says. The spark plugs thread into the head at an angle not straight as stock heads. I would say vortech heads are straight plug heads. Stand to be corrected on that though.

No, its my opinion that Edelbrock headers are the last choice for our engines. SLP's are the best, and Hooker 2055's are the second best.

Why do you prefer slp's over edelbrock?

I've got the TES headers. One or two plugs are a real pain. I cut the air tubes off and brazed the holes and used a heavy duty dremel tool to grind off the ends of the air tubes inside the headers. They work great. Do wish I would have got them coated or wrapped them.
They were not to much of a pain to install, but that might be because I already removed all emissions equipment.
