Is there a way to mount a performer series carb to a stock egr intake? I tried to fit one up tonight and it seemed that no mater what the shaft for the secondarys would hit the egr valve iregardless of how thick a spacer/adapter was used.

The only way for an Edelbrock carb to fit on the original intake manny is to buy a square-bore adapter.
Hey, that reminds me; I have one sitting in my room right now; gaskets, screws and all

 

Hmm, even with the adapter (1 in) I'm pretty sure it will still hit the Egr I guess I'll give the Q-jet one more shot

 

You can always use a egr block off plate....... That's if you don't mind diching the egr...

 

I used a 1" adaptor and blocked off the EGR when I went from the qjet to the Edelbrock.
I also changed the distributor to a vacuum advanced unit.

 

At work some dude had me put an edelbrock 600 on his 82 olds 307. I used an adapter plate just to raise it and then used a die grinder with a debur bit and clearanced aroudn the egr base worked like a charm
