Dual Electric Fans ??

DUAL ELECTRIC FANS ??
when are they supposd to be on? neither of mine are on until the car goes to about 225, then one fan kicks on to keep the car at a constant 220. Why isn't my other fan going on? I heard it only goes on when the a/c goes on? so I am probably taking my a/c out, so would it be a go idea to splice the "a/c fan" into the wiring of the other electric fan? Or run a switch inside the car to turn it on whenever I want to between races?? anyone with experience with this would be great!! thanks everyone!

From what I hear, it is normal for the fans to wait that long until they kick on (something about emissions). Chevrolet must LOVE hot running/breathing motors (also, the throttle bottle with it having coolant passing by).

By the way... on the topic of electric fans.

I seriosuly want to yank the ones I have out of my car. First off I think they look so stupid. Plus I would like something I can control myself a little easier (and Iv had good luck with Flex).

And I talked to flex-a-lite, and they recommended either the 220 or 210 dual fan series (220 comes without the controller, I believe). Hopefully someone here has had experience with these fans on a 3rd gen.

One more thing (sorry): Would also like to know if anyone knows the CFM on the stock fans when both fans run at 100 percent speed.

We put teh 220 or 210 (the one that comes with the controller) in my friends 82 T/A with a Griffen Aluminum radiator when we did the LT1 swap.
It's wired with a switch and with the temp controller.
I may go with that as well since I traded my stock Dual fans for 98 Center console.

Oh, and we installed the one without the controller in my friends 95 Supra TT last year.

Did they bolt up on the TA faily easy?

On my truck, they were very easy (just took a couple of drills for mounting, all in the instructions), but then again, the fans were designed for the truck.

We used the long clips that were provided with the fan. Bolted up easily right to the radiator.
This is the fans we used on the Supra,

Same one we used on the T/A, but we had the controller box.

Okay the reasons chevy had the motors running so hot is because a hotter engine is going to cause more of the gas to be burnt which yes does help with emissions. The thought process behind running coolant through the tb is so if you drove your camaro in -30 weather the coolant running through it will keep it warm and prevent it from freezing solid because it gets pretty cool even during the summer with no coolant running through it.

LT1's have it as well. LS1's may have it as well.

Do you mean like why doesn't a carb have coolant through it?
I am not sure what you're trying to say.
