Drum to Disc Brakes

Anyone sell a kit to do this mod or an "easy" way to do it? I'm not sure what rear is in my car though....it's too cold to go identify it. It's an 88 IROC 5.0/5 speed...it is a posi.

Well although you do have a 305TPI with a 5 speed, which often came with the 9 bolt for that year, the fact that you have rear drums means you most likely have the 10 bolt. I've heard of 9 bolts with rear drums, but never actually seen one.

10 bolt rear drum to disc upgrades are just too numerous to list. Search this site, any S10 site, or even Google it. There is a TON of info out there that is easily found.

If it's a 10 bolt i'll be changing it out probably sometime down the road. I am building an engine with 400+ hp to the wheels. Just have to get off my butt and check it out sometime. I just got the thing about 2 wks ago...
There's no e-brake so i figured i'd upgrade to disc and then fix the e-brake........

It's probably a ten bolt, as I think the BW 9 bolts with drums were either extremely rare or non existant. Putting discs on a 10 bolt is cake, you have you pick of 91-92 3rd gen rear discs, 93-97 LT1 style rear discs, or swaping out the rear end for an LS1 style setup. Possibilities are endless.

I just bought LS1 front brakes from this sight. They have an ad there that says they are currently preparing a kit to turn 9 an 10 rearend drums to LT1 disks, here is the link:
