Does Anyone think this is strange

i have a 350 i checked the casting number and it is an 87+ 350. it has the 305/350 heads center bolt valve covers but does not have roller lifters it has the standard flat lifters.

Yup, That's prolly what it is. Does the engine have the standoffs in the lifter valley tapped for the spider? If not tapped, are they even there?

i dont understand your question. if you mean could a roller lifter setup have been there at one point that id have to answer no.

I'd have to dig out some old Hot Rod's, but I think some of the truck blocks had the extended lifter bores and other provisions for a roller cam - they just didnt finish the machine work. That way they didn't have to engineer two blocks for '87.

10054727...350...86-up...2 or 4...one piece rear seal, some "Made in Canada"
14102193...87-up...305/350......1.94"/1.5" valves
