Do I need charcoal canistor???

Looking for somewhere to mount MSD ignition box and heard someone say that they removed thier charcoal canistor. If I have already had prom programmed with no smog or EGR, can I remove this? Will this give me trouble with gas tank vapors or fumes??? This looks like a good place to mount MSD box being away from direct heat over near fenderwell. HELP PLEASE!!!!!

I removed mine on my 89 formula 350 so I could turn air filter housing sideways. Before housing inlet was pointed right at radiator support with less than 1/4" clearance. But now Charcoal cannister was in the way, so out it comes. Plugged vacuum line to engine.

But I noticed immediately that pressure was building in gas tank. So I connected line to tank directly to vacuum line with a .030" restriction in it. otherwise it would be a huge vacuum leak. Problem solved.

I did this all in a hidden area, so when I go in for emissions inspection, the guy checking it has never noticed anything was up.

No need for the charcoal cannister but leave that line to the fuel tank unplugged.

What about the round canister thing down underneath The Vacuum canister area (looks like a little plastic bowling ball with one vacuum line)? I moved all that stuff to make my CAI and if I can just yank it that would be better.
