Differences between RS and Z28
Re: Differences between RS and Z28
Z28 came with hood blisters and the raised rear spoiler. Also, it came with the bowtie grille insert instead of a normal grille and fog lights unless it was a 1LE. Of course the Z28 badges instead of RS are needed. The RS had normal tail lights as well while the Z28 had grid style lights. I'm not positive about this, but I think the Z28 in 91 came with at least the 305 TPI and disc brakes. Check the last statement to be sure though.

But yeah, everything that was stated, and some RPO stuff, such as if it was 1LE or not, I think springs (not entirely sure), and any other options that were only available on Z28's (like the 1LE).
Re: Differences between RS and Z28
91-92 RS's had the grid-style tail lights like the Z28's.
The suspension (springs, shocks, swaybars) is better on a Z28, along with the engine (tuned port vs throttle body). You'll also get disc brakes (usually) and better rear end gears. The exhaust is tons better on a Z28, as well.
For the cost of converting an RS to a Z28, you could find a Z28 and have money left over. Unless you're into sleepers.

Re: Differences between RS and Z28
Are you wanting to clone it's looks or performance? Looks change hood, spoiler, emblems, grill, and add foglights. Performance... well it's cheaper to just buy a Z28. If you can find one.
Re: Differences between RS and Z28
Just sell your car and buy a real Z28. Its the best way to get what you want. Plus the price diff. on 3RD gens is really not that different . You will only wind up paying another $1000- $1500. It will cost more to copy a z.
