Fuel Injector Cleaner's - Recommendations...
Hey everyone, I want to pick one of those over the counter fuel injector cleaners to run on the car. Anyone have any recommendations? Car was around alot of dust and paint fumes etc since it recently got painted so I want clean out those injectors.
Re: Fuel Injector Cleaner's - Recommendations...
Honestly, the ONLY fuel-injector cleaner that ever worked for me NOTICEABLE was Gumout Fuel Injector and Carb Cleaner.
It brought my mileage up significantly as well.

^Not the Gumout brand
Oh but if you have like 50-70$ laying around, take the car to the shop (like Valvoline) and have them do a proffesional job where they actually hook lines into the fuel rails and ****.

Hmmm no kidding my friend mentioned the same thing. My car has 106k on it what improvements can I expect if I take them to get professionally done? I have always wondered about the over the counter the stuff myself.

actually the stuff that works the best is Seafoam auto and marine. its in a red and white metal can at autozone and maybe advance auto parts. its the best ****, it will make your car smoke like hell for a few mins but it will give it a whole new aditude, thats for DAMN sure! just make sure u follow the directions on the can.

Well, that's an opinion, I've never noticed much of a difference in any of the in-tank FI cleaning products, but when I do it, I use Techron every once in a while for on-car injector cleaning. Here's the thing though, loading the Seafoam directly into the engine does jack sh*t for the injectors. It just cleans carbon off of the piston/combustion chamber/valve. I really like it for that, and it's a great product, but if you're feeding it through a vacuum line, you're not cleaning the injectors, which was what Castro wanted to do

FWIW: I think that it is a good idea to use a bottle of fuel injector cleaner every 3,000 miles. I have used Gumout and STP. I have not had a bad injector or clogged injector. I use the stuff as routine maintenance.

I guess realizing a performance gain all boils down to how dirty your fuel system actually is. I have not seen noticeable performance gains, but that is most likely because my fuel system is clean. I beleive they work to an extent, but in order to FEEL the effect, you have to have a pretty messed up fuel system
