Question Crickets On The Clutch Pedal?

I’ve got a squeak in my clutch pedal. It sounds kind of like crickets chirping until you just slightly put your foot on the clutch. Not enough to feel any resistance. Just kind of rest foot lightly on pedal and the crickets go away. Anyone else have or had this? How do you fix?

It's the clutch ball stud. It's dry and squeaky rubbing against the clutch fork. Whenever I replace my clutch I put a small amount of the copper brake anti-squeak stuff on the stud. Works like a champ.

BTW, S-10 w/T-5 have a greasable stud with a zerk. I don't know if one of those would fit our car or not.

OK call me stupid, but where is the shift fork boot and what is the easiest way to access it? Top, bottom? I've got the grease, just not sure where to put it.

You definitely get to it from below. Driver's side bell housing. You can't miss it.

Well, Thanks guys <wipes grease from nose and lip> it doesn't sqeak anymore. That article was right. When I pushed the bar forward there was rust where the ball comes in contact with it. <wipes more grease off of arms and hands> Next time I think I'll take it in to have an oil change and kindly ask them if they can do it. It's kind of a PITA using ramps. Oh well it is done. <girlfriend screams about some greasy towels> Thanks
