I have a 4" cowl hood made by VFN. I bought it nearly 5 years ago so I don't even know if the company is in business anymore.
The hood fits great (I just painted it and put it on in September), and all the factors things bolt right up. The cowl looks nice, older Camaro style with the rib down the center and flared sides. (not vertical)
It actually doesn't look that tall, but I'm still not a huge fan of it. I think of it more as functional, as in hood clearance and weight, than anything else.

yes vfn is still in business as far as i can tell their site is vfnfiberglass.com it has an online catalog. from what i heard from a well respected drag car builder in the area they are a good product, he swears by it, its what im looking into because there isnt as many manufacturers for the firebird cowls. of course all my friends have harwood for their camaros and they look good, but do require the excess to be trimmed off, not sure about any of the others.

...I bought a 4" fiberglass crowl hood from Unlimited {www.up22.com 877-735-7772 Hesperia, California} several years ago and was very pleased. It was the least exspensive at the time, It only cost a little over $200 bucks, I'm sure they have gone up in price but still a really good value for the money.... Bill...
....I went out in my back yard and measured mine. Then went to their web-site. Its the 2 1/4" Crowl hood Unlimited #c401, now I see they make a 4 3/4". Anyway its only $219 bucks. If I had a Camaro instead of a Trans Am I would get another one of there hoods in a heart beat {they don't have Pontiac hoods for '93-'03}..... Bill...

I would go with a cervini cowl hood. They make 3" cowls and look great. Harwoods also makes hoods. There hoods look good but you usually have to do some work to get the hood to fit.

Also, the quality is good. There are a couple of blemishes on mine that will need some attention but a light block sanding and it will be smooth as glass. The underside also looks good as it is finished and not fiberglass mat.

Cervini all the way. I have seen Harwoods and do not like their fitment. I also don't like the common cowl. They have that ridge in the middle that looks like a boat hull. The Cervini is pretty smooth. If I remember I can take a picture of mine tomorrow. I have the Cervini 3" if you are interested. BTW, how do you post pics?
