Post converting from 305 TBI to 350 TPI ???

I have a 92 RS 305 TBI in my car now and I want to take it out and put in a 350 TPI from this 89 camaro. What all will I have to take out of this 89 to make the TPI work in my 92?

computer?, Wiring harness and how much of it?, etc.

I also want to make the 89 run with the 305 in it.

Any help is appreciated.

John

you need to get the engien wiring harness, ecm, and sensors from both to switch them. also, the upper radiator hose is different between the two.

What sensors are you talking about?

Will I need the whole computer or just the Prom?

If I take the whole computer will it plug right in?

What is the difference in fuel pumps, Will I definately need a higher one? (I just changed it)

Thanks
John

TBI uses a 15 PSI fuel pump, and TPI uses 50+ PSI, so yes they're different.

There is a tech article on www.thirdgen.org that walks you thru the changeover. Its not complete and there's a few errors, but it'll get you thru. If you have no mechanical knowledge or experience, you will have a very tough time. You will definitely need the TPI computer and wiring harness, altho its possible to re-pin your existing TBI harness like my dad did. When he converted his stock 305 TBI to TPI, it gained 17 RWHP and 70 RWTQ.
