Cold Air Intake

Anyone heard of or seen a cold air intake for the cross-fire TBI? I would love to have one but I don't see anything out there. I'd prefer a not-so-ghetto version if there even is one

You best bet is a Home Depot brand CAI.

CtRw, yeah I have/had {long story} an '84 Camaro that I made a cold air intake for. Turned out REALLY nice. I got Wagner {plastic, for weight reduction} headlights with the high & low beams in the same unit and put 'em in the outside headlight spot. If I remember right all I had to do was plug 'em in and they worked {no special wiring required}. In the inside headlight spot I installed heater ducts {yeah, Home Depot!} that converted the headlight hole into a 4" round outlet {or was it 5"?, don't remember}. It was amazing how well the duct fit! Oh, I think they were heater ducts but anyway they were in that section at the store. I then used 4" or was it 5"? cloths dryer hose to run to right in front of the carb on both sides {I had a 415 small block in it with a carp, so no Throttle Body injection}. I didn't inclose it in an air tight set-up cuz I read somewhere that doing it this way helped more. You memtioned not doing it the 'Ghetto way'? Well, I am known for doing things the 'Ghetto way' but this fabrication was SO easy & simple that it looked like a factory piece. Very easy, looked fantastic. Hope this helps.... Bill....

Doesn't CFI already come with some kind of stock ram air intake setup? I can see how the prev post on a cold air system might work for an LG4, because I did something similar. BUt the aircleaner on a CFI equiped car is really different. It might require a ton of custom fabrication to get something like that running. I think CFI equiped thirdgens have fewer aftermarket parts than any other. ITs not gonna be easy man, good luck though, keep us posted, it would be nice to see someone fab one up.

WIll
