Clutch Chatter
Clutch Chatter
Hey guys, I just bought this car, everything on it is great the owner has receipts to back up everything. Its a 350 bored .040 over with a ZZ4 cam and WORLD S/R torquer heads, TPI intake with long tube headers. Anyhow... It's a T5 with a RAM Clutch.. (personally I would have gone with Centerforce considering the power the motors putting out) but has anyone had experience with RAM Clutches? All the ones I've ever seen are OEM replacements... Heres the deal.. if you take off under 2K R's ... it chatters like a bitch... to the point where its like.. OH MY GOD THE WORLD IS ENDING.. but if you take off anywhere above 2300R's it takes off just fine. Basically... it doesn't want to be babied which doesn't bother ME... but.. if its abnormal I'm not happy about it. The flywheel was resurfaced and everything is new, maybe it IS a performance clutch and doesn't like grabbin at that low of an RPM? If you guys have any experience with this please let me know.
Thanks in advance!
Heres the part # for the clutch pack - RAM98730
Oh ya... the chip in this car is factory for an 87 IROC-Z 305 M/T 3.23 gears and 16" rims
it IS in fact an 87 IROC-Z M/T but the motor is way off... I think its time to get a real chip and put this motor to its full potential! Im just suprised it ran.. and ran so well!
Thanks in advance!
