Re: Changing from Convent Oil to Mobil1

I suppose that could happen since synthetic oil tends to clean out engines and allow sludge to be freed up and clogg the oil pump screen, but I never had a problem with that, and have always transferred my vehicles over to mobil one after I got them, whether they had 120K miles, or 40K miles. Never had a problem. That's 4 vehicles I did it too. A 1989 Caprice with a TBI 305, had 104K on it when I got it, but was in excellent condition, ran it till 130K and sold it to a friend who drives it to this day, I did it to a 85 Z28 with 92K on it, ran it till 100K and sold it to another friend, lol who still drives it, and I also did it to a 89 Ford F150 pickup with 120K on it, it threw a rod, but wasn't due to a oil pump, or oil problem, engine already had a mild knock in it when I got it, and I knew it was going to blow up, so I just ran the ***** off it. I also did it to a 1983 Dodge Ram D150. Had 170K on it when I put mobil 1 in it, and it was ran till 240K till I sold it for parts. Good luck, it's your decision, but I recommend it since I never had a problem.
