Hey guys, I'm new to the site and this is my first post to the site as well. I justy bought a 88 iroc with a 5.0 tpi. I think i got a deal on this for 800.00 car is all origional. sat idle for what was approx 2 years. I got thhis car from a co worker with 4 brand new dunlop tires for 800 bucks. car ran as soon as i put a new battery in and runs pretty well. just wandering if you guys think i got a deal. the problems with it are, no brakes, the leather wrapped steering wheel is beat up and there was no coolant in it. I am a mechanic by trade so with these little problems i think i can get it goin soon. I will post some pics soon as i get this thing semi running the way it should. I want to know where i can get a new steering wheel for this to complete the interior. any suggestions? thanks and hope to be into this site and the car real soon.

I should have specified the correct steering wheel for this car. Ebay has 3rd generation wheels but look different. mine has the round horn button where most seem to have the square looking horn button.

It's common for those wheels to be that way ......you'd be better to check out the wrecking yards before buying Ebay .......just my 2 cents

thanks for the help. the pic on ebay from 89 irocz is the wheel i'm looking for. Very pricey though. wrecking yards and or other methods will be pursued. At least I know they are out there. and it is the origional wheel for this car. I like to keep things as origional as possible.

 

I have one i will sale for $50 plus shipping.... that will be shipped from Spartanburg, SC It's off of a 89 iroc-z, and still is in good shape...

Well I got into the Iroc a little more this weekend and found that I need a radiaitor. no problem though. it seems as if it sat for too long and the plastic tanks decided to expand and contract a little much due to the change of season here. got one on the way for 100.00 dollars. I had no brakes when i got it and now i've found a brake pedal, so on goes the mini project. I figure once i get it to stop and hold coolant i'm on the way to make it look good.

Good god that seems high...for that I would put a grant in for 50 dollars...and by now I can only imagine the ones at salvage yards are hammered...
